I n 1954, William F. Morrison, Sr., along with his wife Ruth, founded The Morrison Funeral Home on Bartholdi Avenue and through his years of service earned the reputation as "a funeral director's director." Morrison died suddenly at home on Sunday, August 22, 1999. A fact not known by everyone in the Tri-Boro area was that Bill Morrison was an accomplished drummer who played with the Jimmy Dorsey Band and several other "Big Bands" in the 1940's.
