Mr. Elisha Steelman Adams was a carpenter and undertaker. He directed funerals from his home in 1902 at 21 South Second Street, which was across from the old railroad station in 1800.
Five years later he and his wife, Anna S. Blackman moved to a house at 5 N. Second Street, which was built in 1853 and formerly owned by the late renown Halvor Harley, M.D. Funerals have been held there ever since.
