Burns Funeral Home, Inc. was established in 1939 by Martin J. Burns, Sr. Martin worked as an ice and coal delivery man before opening the funeral home.He worked at a local funeral home part time, before establishing his own.Once he opened his own funeral home, people in the community would call him because they knew him from coming to their home every day and night.The first location was established at 1428 E. Columbia Ave., Phila., Pa. 19125 and since that initial opening we now operate 3 funeral homes.
