1935 was a significant year for the funeral home. J.L. Blair became associated with the firm that year and also Riddle Burial Association was established one of, if not the first burial associations in Texas. John S. Stubbs Sr became associated with the firm in 1945. The operation continued in the downtown location until 1957, when J.K. Hughes home was purchased and converted to a funeral home.
