Save Our Cemeteries began in 1974 in response to a the potential destruction of the wall vaults of St. Louis Cemetery No. 2.Today, the non-profit organization is dedicated to the preservation of the 31 historic cemeteries of New Orleans.
Save Our Cemeteries offers regular cemetery tours, lectures and programming for members and the general public, and does restoration of abandoned tombs.
