History

Later designated as Highway 30, paving was completed as a Federal Works project in the 1930s. was also established in the 1970s and employs 200+ employees and servers over 300 clients in the telecommunications industry. It was established when the Sioux City and Pacific Rail Road chose to cross the river at that location, going from Missouri Valley, Iowa, and up along "Carter Hollow" on the Nebraska side. Other community recreational and convenience options include a golf course, a municipal swimming pool, and a modern general aviation airport. Currently, Kelly Ryan Equipment Company, established in the mid-1940s, employs up to 50 persons.
