History
In 1953, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors authorized a two million dollar loan to fund construction of the marina. The total cost of the marina was thirty-six and one quarter million for land, construction, initial operation. In 1916, the US Army Corps of Engineers revisited the idea of a commercial harbor, but declared it economically impractical. In the mid-1800s, M.C. Ground breaking began shortly after.
