History
Caledonia is approximately 3 miles east of the new State Highway 173 interchange (road) on Interstate 90, which will position Caledonia to grow its tax base and benefit from increased revenue. The overwhelming majority of adjacent residents and property owners objected to the proposal, which would have benefitted only four property owners. Local residents and property owners created a group called the Boone County Alliance Against Intrusive Energy, which through the efforts of Spokesman Aaron M. The Boone County Zoning Board of Appeals ultimately denied approval of, and the Boone County Board rejected, the proposed Wind Farm. However, the prospect of a Wind Farm still lingers.
