The population was 2,782 at the 2000 census, and increased to 2,915 by July 2006 Major items in town are Cedarville Elementary School, Leo Elementary School, and Leo Junior/Senior High School.
Leo-Cedarville was formed by the incorporation of the villages of Leo and Cedarville into a town in the mid-1990s in a defensive move against the rapidly expanding Fort Wayne, whose city limits currently sit five miles from the town.
