Wever is an unincorporated area community in northeastern Lee County, Iowa County, Iowa, United States. This post office has a complicated name history: it opened as Sand Ridge, changed to Green Bay on 1849-09-17, to Jollyville on 1859-01-28, and finally to Wever on 1870-10-17. Its elevation is 561 feet (171 m), and it is located at (40.7105961, -91.2309817). It lies along US Route 61 northeast of the city of Fort Madison, Iowa Madison, the county seat of Lee County. The community is part of the Fort Madison, Iowa Madison–Keokuk, Iowa IA-Missouri Fort Madison-Keokuk micropolitan area Statistical Area.
