Hudson was first settled about 1800. Hudson is a town in Penobscot County, Maine County, Maine, United States. Ephriam Braley, a lumberman and folk singer from Hudson, composed the song "Canaday-I-O" about 1854, which became popular in American lumber camps. In 1825, however it was incorporated as the town of "Kirkland". He is best known for the plays 'Anne of the Thousand Days', 'What Price Glory', 'Key Largo', and the screen adaptation of Erich Maria Remarque's 'All Quiet on the Western Front' .
