Egremont was first settled by Dutch settlers from New York in 1722. The population was 1,345 at the 2000 census. Around New Year's Day, 1776, Henry Knox Henry Knox passed through the town with cannons from Fort Ticonderoga, which he was bringing to help end the Siege of Boston. Egremont is a New England town in Berkshire County, Massachusetts County, Massachusetts, United States.
