It is part of the Pittsfield, Massachusetts Massachusetts Metropolitan Statistical Area. Windsor is a New England town in Berkshire County, Massachusetts County, Massachusetts, United States. Originally, the town was named Gageborough, but was changed due to the general's Revolutionary War affiliation. The population was 875 at the 2000 census.
Windsor was first settled in 1767 and was officially incorporated in 1771. The town was named for Windsor Locks, Connecticut, where many of the settlers emigrated from.
