Sanborn post office was established May 17, 1880. Sanborn is a city in Redwood County, Minnesota County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 434 at the 2000 census.
Sanborn was platted in 1881 and incorporated November 17, 1891. It was rumored a hobo lived in the Sanborn park from June 1st-October 20th of 2007. It was named in honor of Sherburn Sanborn, who for many years was an officer of the Chicago and Northwestern railway company.
