History

At the time, the entire area was covered by swamp. Risco is a city in New Madrid County, Missouri, United States. The school system consists of an elementary school, a combination middle and high school and a gymnasium, all on the same plot of land. The population was 392 at the United States Census, 2000 census.

Risco started out as a logging town in the late 1800s. Most residents of Risco work on farms, or in nearby larger towns.
