Pierce is a city in Pierce County, Nebraska County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 1,774 at the United States Census, 2000 census. It is the county seat of Pierce County, Nebraska County .
The City of Pierce was legally established on Valentine's Day (February 14) in 1871, but had been settled as early as 1869 by Wisconsin Germans. The Pierce Post Office was established in 1870 and the original courthouse was built in 1871 for $4,000. It is part of the Norfolk, Nebraska Norfolk Micropolitan Statistical Area Statistical Area.
