History
Its setting is on beautiful Crystal Lake. He later formed a colony at New Haven, Connecticut Haven, Connecticut, along with Reverend John Davenport (clergyman) Davenport and David Yale, great-grandfather of Yale University University's founder, Elihu Yale. Eaton includes the village of Snowville.
Eaton was incorporated in 1760 by Colony Governor Benning Wentworth, and named for Governor Theophilus Eaton of Connecticut, a generous contributor to the funds needed to settle Massachusetts in 1630. The population was 375 at the 2000 census. Eaton is a New England town in Carroll County, New Hampshire County, New Hampshire, United States.
