History
Searingtown School (in Albertson) was the setting for the Supreme Court case ENGEL v. Starting in the 1990s there was a large influx of Asians into the western part of Albertson (Herricks School District). In 1908, the Vanderbilt Motor Parkway was built on the southern border of Albertson. The population was 5,200 at the 2000 census.
The first European settler was John Seren who came from Connecticut in 1644. .
