Ellenburg is a town in Clinton County, New York, United States. The population was 1,743 at the 2010 census. The town is named after the daughter of the principal proprietor. Ellenburg is on the west border of the county and is northwest of Plattsburgh. The south part of the town is in the Adirondack Park.

Noble has also proposed wind farms in the neighboring towns of Altona (town), New York and Chateaugay (town), New York Construction of the wind farms have caused some controversy within the towns as many residents feel it may subtract from the natural beauty of the area. The town was formed from part of the Mooers (town), New York of Mooers in 1830. The population was 1,812 at the 2000 census.
