History
The town was first settled in the 17th Century and was part of the Rensselaerwyck Manor in the New Netherland colony. In 1896, Part of the town was used to provide some territory for the Towns of Nassau, New York and Berlin, New York|Berlin. Schodack is a town in Rensselaer County, New York County, New York, United States. The population was 12,536 at the 2000 census. The location of their principal village was "Esquatak, the "fireplace of the nation." The town was partly explored by Henry Hudson in 1609.
